First Aid Training
Advanced Training Solutions First Aid training provides a professional and friendly approach to all your training needs.
Employers have an obligation under the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981 and Approved Code of Practice (ACOP L74) to make adequate and appropriate First Aid Provision for their workforce.
It is recommended that someone is able to undertake First Aid duties at all times whilst people are at work. Advanced Training Solutions offers courses to train people as both First Aiders and Appointed Persons (to oversee First Aid needs and manage any incidents that may occur).
First Aid at Work
A comprehensive three day course covering a wide range of First Aid emergencies and how to deal with them, enabling participants to qualify to the level of First Aider for the workplace meeting the statutory requirements of the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981.
This course can be tailored to the requirements of specific work environments.
Aims of the Course:
At the end of the course participants will be able to:
- Assess and prioritise a First Aid incident.
- Deal with an unconscious casualty.
- Carry out resuscitation (CPR).
- Control bleeding and manage shock.
- Deal with injuries to bones, muscles and joints.
- Deal with a casualty suffering burns and scalds.
- Manage eye injuries.
- Deal with casualties overcome by fumes or suffering from poisoning.
- Deal with a broad range of common injuries and illnesses until the arrival of medical care.
- Maintain records.
- Use and maintain First Aid kits.
Course duration: 3 days
Course certification:
On successful completion of the course and final assessment participants will be awarded a First Aid At Work certificate approved for the purpose of the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981, which is valid for three years.

First Aid at Work Refresher:
Course Description:
This course is to include a revision of topics covered in the four-day programme, together with any updates that have been incorporated into the programme since the candidate completed their original course.
Candidates wishing to undertake this training must provide evidence that they hold a current, in date, HSE First Aid at Work certificate.
Course duration: 2 days
Course certification:
On successful completion of the course and final assessment participants will be awarded a First Aid At Work certificate approved for the purpose of the Health and Safety (first aid) regulations 1981, which is valid for three years.

Advanced Training Solutions have carried on increasing their portfolio of clients over the last few months and have included Emergency Life Support and Defib Training amongst the training courses that we already deliver. The Emergency Life Support combined with Defib Training is proving a very popular course for our clients as it can be completed in half a day but covers a good syllabus that is both managable and enjoyable. However, please note that the only courses currently accredited by the HSE are the First Aid at Work Training and the Emergency First Aid at Work Training Courses.
