Fire Safety and First Aid training update
As Advanced Training Solutions embark on their 6th year of training, they would like to reflect on some of the highlights over the last few years of trading. As is obvious from the company name, Advanced Training Solutions are a training organisation who started trading as a Fire Safety Training and Fire Safety Consultancy some 6 years ago. Both Company directors had a wealth of knowledge in the Fire Safety and Fire Training world, gleened from over 22 years of Service each, in the Royal Air Force Fire & Rescue Service. On leaving the Service it seemed a natural progression to move in to the training world as both had finished their respective careers teaching many Fire related subjects at the RAF Fire & Rescue training establishment based in Kent. Summer is upon us! Don’t get burnt!
Whilst we have had much wind and rain of late, summer is certainly upon us as I found out only last Friday whilst playing golf! Whilst the weather was extrememly grim with very high winds and lots of cloud I still managed to get mild sunburn to my head! This painful experience could so easily have been avoided had I applied suncream regularly or better still, worn a hat for protection. However, I did neither and suffered the consequences the following day or two.
Sunburn can so easily be avoided but what should we do if we are caught out? Sunburn is caused by overexposure to ultraviolet (UV) rays and if not too serious can be treated with simple first aid treatment. Follow this link to find out how.
If you need further advice on this subject or if you would like information on a first aid training course please contact us

Good Samaritan kids denied life-saving skills by Westminster
Over half of kids (60%) are powerless to help someone who has collapsed in the street despite three quarters (73%) wanting to be able to help, our new survey results reveal.
Working with Resuscitation Council UK (RCUK), we’re calling on the Government to change the National Curriculum in England to ensure all students are taught Emergency Life Support (ELS) skills which would help save a life.
The survey also revealed overwhelming support from both teachers and parents for children learning ELS. More than 4 in 5 teachers (86%) believe it should be taught at school and 70% of parents agree.
This is about giving students the skills that make a difference in an emergency
